Student Assistant (m/w/d) – IT & Server Administration – Space Safety Domain

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our team as a student assistant for the ESA-funded CASCADE project in the space safety domain.

Your tasks include:

  • Setup of linux server (hardware already existent)
  • Setup of remote desktop connection
  • Server user administration
  • Deployment of a Flask website on server
  • Scheduling of regular tasks on server (automated code testing, data retrieval)
  • Further development on the back-end of the web application (optionally also front-end)
  • Optionally: Support of students working in the project with setup of Git and IDEs

Required Prerequisites:

  • Reliability, diligent work style and good communication skills
  • Good command of German and English
  • Knowledge in server administration
  • Knowledge in Git, Linux, and Python (Flask)

Favourable Prerequisites:

  • General interest in the space domain and on space safety topics
  • Successful completion of space-related lectures at TU Darmstadt (e.g. „Foundations of Space Systems“ and „Space Debris“)

  • Flexible working hours at 20-30h per month
  • Start: as soon as possible
  • The position is a good preparation for students interested in writing their thesis in the space safety domain
