Research at FSR

Research profile

The Institute of Flight Systems and Automatic Control (FSR) is conducting research on a large number of exciting projects in the aerospace industry. In aviation, the research focuses not only on the systemic and component-specific investigation in the area of for example maintenance (Predicitive Maintenance ) or control (Unmanned Aircraft Systems ), but also on the operational procedures (Sustainable and Efficient Flight Operations , Future Cockpit Concepts ).

In the field of space travel, the FSR cooperates closely with the European Space Agency (ESA). Current research in this area includes the use of concurrent engineering to develop complex technical systems, with a focus on the design of ground segments and support for space operations (Concurrent Engineering for complex technical systems ), as well as the development of efficient methods for collision avoidance of satellites in space operations (Space Safety & Space Traffic Management).
