With the presentation of the grant notification on August 5, the Hessian Drone Competence Center was officially opened. Over the course of the project, infrastructure will be developed at Kassel Airport to implement innovative drone projects and to apply and test research findings in real-world conditions.

As the Institute for Flight Systems and Control Engineering, we are contributing our expertise in the development and integration of unmanned aerial systems. In particular, we are focusing on the key areas of drone detection and situational awareness.

We look forward to collaborating with all project partners and to exciting research and testing projects at Kassel Airport!
