Student Assistant (m/w/d) – General Support – Space Safety Domain

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our team as a student assistant for the ESA-funded CASCADE project in the space safety domain.

Your tasks include:

  • Support students working in the project during onboarding
  • Support with the preparation of project documentation, figures, and charts for the European Space Agency
  • Knowledge management of relevant literature in Citavi
  • Content management on the FSR space website and creation of project-related media content
  • Preparation of presentations, user surveys, and mock-ups related to CASCADE for presentation to the public
  • Optionally: Programming, code testing, code version control & server setup

Required Prerequisites:

  • Reliability, diligent work style and good communication skills
  • Good command of German and English
  • Strong interest in the space domain
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, PowerPoint, and image editing software (e.g. Inkscape, Gimp, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Favourable Prerequisites:

  • Successful completion of the lectures „Foundations of Space Systems“ and „Space Debris“
  • Knowledge in Python (data analysis, plotting)
  • Knowledge in Git
  • Knowledge in Linux

  • The position is a good preparation for students interested in writing their thesis in the space safety domain
