Launch of new space safety project CASCADE
In the space safety domain of FSR, a follow-up project to Rules4CREAM has been launched with the CASCADE project.

With the CASCADE (Collision avoidance, satellite coordination assessment demonstration environment) project, the FSR is building on the research results from the Rules4CREAM project and, together with the space company OKAPI:Orbits, is developing a demonstrator platform for coordinating the collision avoidance process for satellites in Earth orbit. In the context of this project, FSR is developing the Mission Analysis Software (MAS), a simulation environment for long-term propagation and conjunction detection for active satellites that can be used to analyse the consequences of collision avoidance strategies.
